An application has been lodged with DLRCC to build a house on Torca/Knocknacree Road that if granted would reduce the width of the public right-of-way and remove a number of the eucalyptus trees. The deadline for observations is Wednesday 21 Oct.
Some points to note:
1) Applicant is claiming ownership of public pedestrian right-of-way and adjoining strip of eucalyptus forest which are owned by DLRCC.
2) Developer intends to widen pedestrian path to allow for the passage of two cars and resulting traffic hazard.
3) Public pedestrian right-of-way will be used for access to private development.
4) Height, scale of house excessive
5) Designated 0/0 zone-“no increase in the number of buildings permissible”
6) Site has a designation to protect and preserve woodlands- development will result in loss of trees on the site.
Submit an observation planning reference: D20A/0660 online or post to Planning Department, County Hall, Marine Rd, Dun Laoghaire enclosing cheque for €20.
Last date for lodging observations is Wednesday 21st October.
